The summer of 2015 I spent hiking in the Alpine Tundra with a good friend in search of Alpine Wildflowers. With his help I photographed and sketched the hardy alpine wildflowers that grow above timberline in the Rocky Mountains. Throughout the winter of 2015-2016 I painted, using watercolor, 24 of these diminutive, but robust wildflowers I found during the previous summer. 

The slideshow at the top of the page documents the breathtaking hikes and tenacious flowers we encountered throughout the summer and the process of painting this collection.
